Instructor

Jolynn Sapia

Jolynn’s career started as a Special Education teacher in the New York City School System and then transferred to Long Island’s Brentwood UFSD. Jolynn’s increasing responsibilities included shifting career gears as she was put on a special assignment to learn, implement, and turnkey software programs for fellow educators. After obtaining a Districtwide Administrative license, she advanced her craft as the Coordinator of Technology, and Libraries for the Brentwood School District for 3 years, before moving to Half Hollow Hills School District where she spent the next 10 years before retiring and starting an Independent Consulting company. She is an active member of ISTE, (International Society for Technology in Education) and ASSET, (Association of Supervisors for Educational Technology) where she held positions as President and Conference chair, as well as presenting for organizations such as LIASCD, NYSCATE, SCOPE and BOCES. Jolynn has developed and taught courses with regard to technology infusion for Stony Brook University, as well districts throughout the Long Island region. Jolynn’s accomplishments include: Model Schools Administrator of the Year 2012-2013, Western Suffolk BOCES Library System Council-Administrator of the Year 2020, and was recently Nominated for “LifeChanger of the Year Annual Award 2020”. She is married and has 4 children. She enjoys reading, running, biking, hiking, rollerblading and gardening in addition to her passion for technology.
